I was born at night, but it wasn't last night
Two days.
Two days Sam and Dean had been crashing in the guest bedroom upstairs and it hadn't taken him an hour to realize there was a weird tension in the air. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he figured it was only a matter of time until it came to the surface. Stubborn idjits... every time he tried to ask about it, they'd try to brush it off like it was nothing.
Must've thought he was blind or something.
Not that he had time to be wasting on their feelings right now. There were people being picked off in a town up north from where they were and they needed to figure out what the hell was doing it. Bobby's money was on a water wraith, but you could never be too careful.
He sat at his desk, reading over a few texts he had spread out across it and only giving passing glances to where Sam sat, pouring over his own book. Dean had been sent off for a dinner and booze run... and as far as Bobby was concerned, he was taking too damn long.
"You find anything?"

Decided to skip since we didn't have anything special planned!
He was mostly just looking forward to going back to the motel room and catching a nap -- if Sam didn't want to drive on through.
God, he hoped Sam didn't want to drive on through. He would, but they'd spent all night practically tracking the damn thing.
Once they were back to where they parked their cars, he starts his way towards the Impala, only to be stopped when Bobby cleared his throat to catch their attention.

"Gonna assume you boys ain't going back with me."

He knows this is for the best. That he and Dean need time to themselves and Bobby needs time to deal with this. And Dean is gonna kill him for asking, but...
"We can stick around if you need us," he offers. He doesn't want to feel like he's leaving Bobby flat.

But he gives a slight smile as he looks between the two of them. Dean's a mess and Sam's probably hoping he doesn't ask them to stay around. He knows it's not personal, not really. They could all use a break right now.
"Know the door's always open if you need it though."

Now what he needs most is a good night's sleep. Something he's sure he'll get now that he and Dean can share a bed again. They both sleep better with the other beside them.

Dean could let himself relax some, get some sleep.
"Can't wait to get back to the room," he murmurs.

"Come here."

"We both need sleep. Can we take tomorrow off?"

When they get to the motel room, he parks it in front of their room and nudges at Sam. "C'mon."

"You're getting kinda bossy, y'know?"

"Today could have gone a lot worse," he murmurs, pressing a kiss to his brother's collarbone. "I'm glad we told him."

"Get some sleep, Sammy."
