I was born at night, but it wasn't last night
Two days.
Two days Sam and Dean had been crashing in the guest bedroom upstairs and it hadn't taken him an hour to realize there was a weird tension in the air. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he figured it was only a matter of time until it came to the surface. Stubborn idjits... every time he tried to ask about it, they'd try to brush it off like it was nothing.
Must've thought he was blind or something.
Not that he had time to be wasting on their feelings right now. There were people being picked off in a town up north from where they were and they needed to figure out what the hell was doing it. Bobby's money was on a water wraith, but you could never be too careful.
He sat at his desk, reading over a few texts he had spread out across it and only giving passing glances to where Sam sat, pouring over his own book. Dean had been sent off for a dinner and booze run... and as far as Bobby was concerned, he was taking too damn long.
"You find anything?"

"You find anything?"
no subject
Yeah, they needed to talk about this... and soon.
He gave a look back at Sam, frowning a moment before he turned his attention back. Shit.
"Gonna head in for a minute, Bobby." Weird, yeah, but he needed a moment. Just thinking about having this talk had him on edge.
no subject
"Hey, can we take a five? Dean and I....we have to talk to you."
no subject
Bobby's jaw tightened a moment as he watched him head back into the house and looked back at Sam.
"You two finally gonna tell me what's going on here?"
no subject
Sam sinks onto the couch, but he doesn't relax back knot it. He's fidgety and nervous, wondering if this is the last time he'll ever be welcome in this house.
no subject
He paused when he saw Sam sitting on the couch, eyeballing the door. Bobby hadn't ventured in just yet and he was kind of nervous about what'd happen when he did. "What's going on?"
Not that he really needed any clarification. He had a pretty damn good idea.

unfortunately, looks like they're going to do it and Dean isn't looking forward to that one bit. Still, he goes to take a seat, watching when the door swings open.
Damn...
no subject
Oh, yeah, that calmed his nerves.
Shaking his head, he went to take a seat in the chair across from them. "One of you idjits gonna start talking before I die of old age or what?"
no subject
He just had to remember that as long as he had his brother, he could handle anything else life threw at him.
"This isn't easy to say, Bobby," he starts, wringing his hands. God, where does he even start?
no subject
"Something's, uh-- it's changed between us recently, not exactly in the most normal way either." He gave a look to Sam.
Dammit, he didn't know how to say he was fucking his brother.
no subject
So Sam bites the bullet.
"It's turned sexual," he says. He holds his brother's gaze, too scared to look at Bobby. He's ready to be kicked out. Ready to be told he never gets to see Bobby again. Even ready for him to kick the crap out of the both of them. But Dean is right here beside him, and that makes everything okay.
no subject
He looks between them, but Dean's got his eyes locked on Sam's and Sam's got his on Dean's like they think that'll make him fade out of the damn room or something.
"What the hell are you two talking about?" he demands, not sure what else to say.
no subject
"Dean and I....we're sleeping together." And he would give anything in the world to not have to tell Bobby this. But it isn't fair to keep such a big secret. Especially when he and his brother aren't just fooling around. It isn't just sex, and that's why Bobby deserves to know.
no subject
"It's not just about the sex either, Bobby..."
no subject
Dammit, their lives just got weirder, didn't it?
"What do you expect me to say?"
no subject
It's the best explanation that Sam can come up with, and it's true. Moving onto this kind of relationship felt completely natural with how close they'd always been.
He doesn't answer the second question. He doesn't expect anything. He and Dean will take whatever the man gives them.
no subject
He looked between Sam and Dean, eyes narrowing briefly on them both.
"How'd it happen?"

"I'll pack my things," he says quietly, pushing up from the couch.
no subject
Didn't want to leave Bobby alone with it, but he'd understand. Hell, Bobby was a capable guy, he'd be fine on the hunt anyway.
no subject
"I ain't tossing you out." Like he'd ever do that to boys he practically raised.
"Just asking you keep the PDA to yourselves for a bit while I try to figure out what the hell to say here."
no subject
He doesn't know if there are words. If there's any way to express how much this means to him. To Dean.
"Okay," he says softly. "Onto the river wraith then."
no subject
"We know how to handle it anyway, got a clue what to look for. You two should get some shut eye."
