I was born at night, but it wasn't last night
Two days.
Two days Sam and Dean had been crashing in the guest bedroom upstairs and it hadn't taken him an hour to realize there was a weird tension in the air. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he figured it was only a matter of time until it came to the surface. Stubborn idjits... every time he tried to ask about it, they'd try to brush it off like it was nothing.
Must've thought he was blind or something.
Not that he had time to be wasting on their feelings right now. There were people being picked off in a town up north from where they were and they needed to figure out what the hell was doing it. Bobby's money was on a water wraith, but you could never be too careful.
He sat at his desk, reading over a few texts he had spread out across it and only giving passing glances to where Sam sat, pouring over his own book. Dean had been sent off for a dinner and booze run... and as far as Bobby was concerned, he was taking too damn long.
"You find anything?"

"You find anything?"

Shit.
Dean tenses too. He's naked, Sam's naked... fuck, there' laying all over each other to boot. He couldn't even speak, but he was practically pleading in his head that Bobby didn't open the door or anything.
After an awkward moment, he finally found his voice enough to answer with a quick, "Be right there!"
And thank God that footsteps moving away from the room followed that. He wasn't coming in. Phew.
But fuck did that put a scare into him.

"Dean, we have to tell him," he murmurs.

Bobby needed to see him after all... hopefully not to ask him what the hell he was doing with his little brother.
"Dude, c'mon... you know how bad that'll turn out."

It'd just suck if it meant they were without the guy who'd been a father figure to them both.
"Yeah, I know." He pauses to steal a quick kiss before he heads downstairs. Awkward because all he can think is Bobby's gonna see right through him, know just what he'd been up to upstairs.

Despite any awkwardness, Dean was leaning down, looking under the hood and listening to Bobby tell him what they needed to work on. This let him work off some of that nervous energy anyway.

"Gonna give us a hand?" Not that the kid was all that interested in cars, not like him and Dean, but he figured he'd learned enough over the years.

He forces himself to relax. To be easy-going. More tension would only further Bobby's worry and suspicion.

Bobby wasn't bringing it up right now though. "You been asleep, kid?"
With the way Sam's hair was still mussed, he figured so.

"Why don't you grab that wrench over there."

Yeah, they needed to talk about this... and soon.
He gave a look back at Sam, frowning a moment before he turned his attention back. Shit.
"Gonna head in for a minute, Bobby." Weird, yeah, but he needed a moment. Just thinking about having this talk had him on edge.
no subject
"Hey, can we take a five? Dean and I....we have to talk to you."

Bobby's jaw tightened a moment as he watched him head back into the house and looked back at Sam.
"You two finally gonna tell me what's going on here?"
